Taxonomic review of the genus Grouvellinus Champion (Coleoptera: Elmidae) from Taiwan and Japan

Abstract:

The species of Grouvellinus from Taiwan and Japan are reviewed. Seven species and one subspecies, G. pilosus, n. sp., G. montanus, n. sp., G. hygropetricus, n. sp., and G. babai babai Nomura from Taiwan, and G. marginatus (Kôno), G. nitidus Nomura, G. subopacus Nomura and G. babai satoi, n. ssp. from Japan, are described or redescribed. Male genitalia of all species are depicted. A lectotype for G. marginatus is designated.
